This post is two days past due as October 12 was Columbus Day. Above though is a great video that demonstrates that it is never too late to reconsider history as we have been taught it.
NEVER TOO LATE: Reconsidering Columbus Day
Truth. It’s so easy for ‘us’ to just accept a holiday, as we always have and not think about the ‘why’ and the ‘who’ we are actually celebrating. And because we are locked into this ‘society’ where we have to (accept that we have to) work(slave) for a living – any day off we get – we accept – because boy, we WANT that day off from work. It’s hard to break us out of our indifference.
